Tender Signs of Spring

Aren’t we waiting for decisive signs of spring? This longing stems from the inumerable disruptions of winter by burst of blue skies and warm temperatures that suddenly retrace to the cold of winter with low lying clouds and intermittent snow.
On one of the recent days pointing to the warmer season to come, I shot a couple of pictures of ponds in the Nature Reserve. There are more than 15, maybe even as many as 30 but some are hidden in the thickets of the woods.

A new pond is being built next to a hiking path.

This latest addition to the the ponds is bare and it will be exciting to see how the banks become populated with bushes and trees. It won’t take long for animal life to appear in its waters.
