Forest Trees: End of life

We tend to admire the beauty of trees at their prime of life.

I shot some picutres of the end of their life cycle.

Healthy tree bark

These trees have reached the end of their life and look pitiful. The visible changes that accompany their demise are varied and reminders of life’s cycles. We humans are part of them, and are thus connected to all living creatures whether plants or animals.

  1. Sad when this happens. I am a big fan of bark studies- enjoyed this collection, Beat.

    1. Thank you. We tend to emphasize the beauty and bright colors of landscapes, but the ever cycling renewal is also important and worthy of our attention.
