Wonders of Spring

What a beautiful sight while following the meanders of the Wyna, a brook flowing through Beromünster, a small town in the Canton of Lucerne, today. It was cloudy at first but the sun made a midday appearance whilst the temperatures stayed around 50° F (10° C). See, what I found on this Good Friday morning with much attention and a bit of luck.

Here they are: mom and
the tree ducklings
Trying to keep up with mom.
Doing it together feels safe!
Kind of high, isn’t it!
Thinking too late about going down there!
Wait mom, I’m not ready!
Huddling up after so much adventure.

Aren’t we lucky to watch the circle of life starting up every spring? The ducklings are the first offspring that I was priviledged to observe this year in Central Switzerland. Ducks are shy if you see them in the wilderness. The same mallards are fed along with swans and other wild birds on the lake shore by tourists, elderly and young children. They become used to humans and beg for food at arms distance without hesitation.
