Since my last blog, on November 4, 2023 the temperature has further cooled, days shortend to just about 9 hours and the snowline fallen to 1200 – 1500 m (3600 – 4500 feet). Only a few weeks ago, my time with the camera in the woods depended on my other schedules. We had such a beautiful fall. Anytime was right to pack up the camera and to be outside. Now, my outings are dictated by periods of little or no rain. Everything else has to accomodate – more or less. A warm coat and hat accompany my strolls in the woods.
A tranquility has emerged since the number of hikers, bikers and wildlife observers has decreases due to cold and drizzle.
I would like to share a couple of pictures, hoping to transmit my feelings of tenderness imparted by this late fall mood when nature takes a deep breath before preparing for the fight against the harsh winter months to come.

Reaching into the cold sky of November a tuff of reed and a deciduous leaf on a twig full of buds, ready to grow and to bring new life to the shrub when warmth and light return.
